Overview

Patrick joined Laner Muchin in 2024 as an associate. He concentrates his practice on public and private sector litigation in state and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies.

Patrick has has diverse litigation experience on a wide range of legal issues, including defending employers with respect to claims brought under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, Section 1981 and 1982, the Illinois Whistleblower Act and the Illinois Ethics Act. Patrick is an experienced trial attorney, having litigated numerous cases to verdict involving both civil rights and employment law claims. He also has substantial appellate experience before the First Appellate District of Illinois and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

Patrick earned his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School (now University of Illinois Chicago School of Law). While in law school, Patrick excelled as a member of the Moot Court Team, earned Dean’s List honors and was a recipient of the Alvin H. Braum Public Interest Internship Award.

Prior to joining Laner Muchin, Patrick served as a Deputy General Counsel and Chief EEO/AA Officer for the Illinois Department of Human Services. He also previously worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney for the Conflicts Counsel Unit at the Cook County State Attorney’s Office and as an Assistant Attorney General for the employment and civil rights units at the Illinois Attorney General’s Office.
